God Bless The Keepers of Our Country

The fires that were burning out of control in California really scared me. My brother Todd, his wife Lindy, and my nephews Eric and Dane, along with Lindy’s mother (called Mor Mor by us kids,) all had to evacuate their homes.
I am proud of my brother. He was aboard the U.S.S. Constellation and went to fight in the Persian Gulf War. Both of my grandfathers were among those who fought in the war as well. My grandfather on my mom’s side fought in World War II.
My grandfather on my dad’s side fought in the Korean War. This past week we celebrated Veteran’s Day. Papa Key: Veteran of the Korean War On that day, my mom picked me up from school with tears in her eyes.
She was listening to our local radio program. They were broadcasting the town’s Veteran’s Day Celebration. People were calling in to say whom they were honoring. One veteran called in to honor his dog, who died in the line of fire protecting his master.
I not only pay honor to all of our men and women fighting for our country, but I pay honor to our four legged friends as well. God bless you.
Did I just write in my last article that school was out, or was that a dream? Well, it is back in, and going strong! This summer is but a wonderful memory now.http://www.sanbongear.com.It all began with flying into San Diego for a brief stay with Todd and his family. After absconding their van, we drove to Buena Park, home of my “other brothers” AKA, Sanbon Pro Apparel. We had a wonderful day of fun, sushi, and photo shoots. They have some awesome new apparel, so if you are in the market for Christmas gifts, check out their web site at:
Later that evening it was off to Nihon Karate school to train with sensei Chad and sensei Bruce. Next it is off to train in Canoga Park with “Dad” Leo Fong, and long time friend, Adam James. (Yes Mr. Nolan, I am wearing my Siegel Stars shirt!)
We are getting ready for some more fun filming “Charlie and Chan.” This time “Pops” Krasnoo was in on the filming. It was really hard keeping my composure doing scenes with Pops! In the midst of all of this, who should be running laps around the park but Don “The Dragon” Wilson!
In between shooting “Charlie and Chan” scenes, we drove to Malibu to Joey Escobar’s school so I could train with Mr. Ron Pohnel. Poor me, training in Malibu! Later that week, I got to go to Westlake Village to Mr. Roger Lacombe’s awesome karate school to film “Karate Talk.”
You can catch that on: http://www.webgeeks.tv/31.html On the weekend, we went to Santa Clarita for even more training with Mr. and Mrs. Pohnel. How fun. However, little did I know that I was training to compete in the Ed Parker Long Beach International Karate Tournament! At least, I had the best to train me! That was a good experience for me, and my dad got to pretend he was Ujio from “The Last Samurai” for a passing moment.
Sadly leaving friends and family, I knew it was time for home and the responsibilities of summer homework and my Boston Terriers, Heidi and Taka. This school year, I have taken advanced placement classes.
It has been very challenging, and regretfully, I found no time during the week for my karate classes in Nashville with Mr. Greer.
It was taking 4 hours an evening out of my homework time. Also, my Muay Thai teacher, SRO Officer Irvin Turner, hurt his shoulder, hence, having to cancel our classes.
Two weeks without martial arts training was all I could stand, so mom called Guardian, (http://www.guardianmma.com) home of mixed martial arts school here in Murfreesboro.
I love my Muay Thai and boxing classes that I am taking there. I am training in boxing with Jonathan “Reid Dawg” Reid. You might remember him from “The Contender” that was on television a couple of years ago.
Also, Mom picked up a flyer there one night about Ms. Victoria Windholtz coming from France to do a seminar on Chinese martial arts. I have always wanted to do Chinese martial arts as well as my other training.
Maybe it is the influence of “Dad” Leo Fong. As things go, I am now also involved in Chinese martial arts with Sifu Steve Alsup.
It is wonderful. Check out his wonderful web site, and Ms. Windholtz’s seminar. http://www.chineseenergyboxing.com/home.html In closing, to all of you who have lost your homes in California, you are in my prayers.
