Holiday Gathering a Rare Christmas Treat in Oakland, CA
The day after Christmas brought together some of the top martial arts
pioneers for a holiday celebration sponsored by the World Martial Arts Masters Association. It was a special opportunity to rekindle old friendships, share fraternal kinship and enjoy a wonderful time together during the holiday season.
Film star, martial arts legend and World Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame member Cynthia Rothrock, Mother Joy and daughter Skyler were special guests of Master Mark Gerry. They had flown up from Los Angeles earlier that day to share noonday festivities and celebrate the Christmas holidays with this select gathering of martial artists.
World Martial Arts Masters President, Mark Gerry organized this festive occasion to honor and celebrate the holiday season by bringing together some of Americas martial arts living legends at the Full Moon Seafood House in Oakland for a luncheon. The unity felt at the gathering was evident and the holiday spirit and camaraderie were abundant.
 What was just as special is the attendance of some of the World Martial Art Masters Association Hall of Fame Alumni.

- Grandmaster Alex Feng

- Sifu Janet Gee.
Also in attendance were Grandmaster Leon Jay, Grandmaster Sonny Umpad, Professor Joe Bautista, Sifu Crystal Suan, Master Jimmy Willis, Master Steve Barbieri, Master Frank Wohler, Sensei Wayne Tobin, Sensei Dave Bendigkeit, Sifu Greglon Yimm Lee, Sifu Bob Hodges, Sifu Zach Whitson, WMAMA Woman of the Year 2004 Ms. Diane Tanaka, Sensei Patricia Hendricks and their luncheon guests.
Afterward, the entourage visited Hanshi Sid Campbells historic landmark Oakland Honbu (headquarters) dojo not very far from the restaurant. At the dojo numerous group photos were taken to mark the celebration and formal announcements for various forthcoming martial arts events were shared among the heads of there distinguished organizations.
