Grand Master Bong Soo Han, The Father of Hapkido in the Western World, Passes Away
Dear
Martial Arts Community,
On January 8, 2007 Grand Master Bong Soo Han peacefully passed away while
at his home in Santa Monica surrounded by his family and friends.
Services for Grand Master Han will be held at Pierce Brothers Westwood
Village Memorial Park in Westwood, CA. A viewing has been scheduled for:
Tuesday,
January 16 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.
Memorial services will be held
the following day Wednesday, January 17 at 1:00PM for family, friends,
students, and associates. Grand Master Han's Santa Monica studio
will be open for a Memorial Tribute honoring Grand Master Han's life and
legacy. The tribute will be for three days starting Thursday
January 18 through Saturday January 20.
The studio will be
open to the general public from 3PM to 8PM on Thursday and Friday and
from 10AM to 3PM on Saturday - all are welcomed to come by
to pay their respects to a quintessential martial artist and wonderful human
being.

In honor of Grand Master Bong Soo Han's vision, the International Hapkido Federation
will continue its pursuit of spreading Hapkido
throughout the world. The IHF and Grand Master Han's Santa Monica
studio will re-open following the public Memorial Tribute on: Monday
January 22,
2007.
