Master's Seminar Headliner “The Untouchables”
Submitted by Harrison Luke
Jon Bluming is a well-known Dutch judo and Kyokushin Kai karate teacher and a man who saw harrowing real life combat in Korea, then struggled on world-class judo mats and in the roughest karate dojo in Japan. Master Bluming will be featuring Kyokushin Kai karate in the seminar. To have these three men (Gene LeBell, Jon Bluming, and Gokor Chivchyan) teaching at the same seminar is a grapplers dream come true. Jon Bluming will be coming to Los Angeles not only to teach in the seminar but also to be honored at the Sixth Annual Spectacular Martial Arts Show & Award Ceremony held at the Pasadena Armenian Center.
Martial Arts Legend and Black Belt Hall of Fame Instructor Gokor Chivichan
originally founded The Hayastan Academy in 1984. The Dojo was quickly
established as one of the first true MMA (mixed martial arts) clubs in USA.
Classes at the Dojo included NHB (no holds barred) fighting, Sport Judo
and the very popular Advanced Grappling without Gi. Since the early 80’s
Gokor and the Hayastan MMA Academy have been making Olympic Judo and World Class fighters year after year. Gokor will be featuring
mixed martial arts in the seminar.
“Judo” Gene LeBell is a living legend that still continues to teach and work in films. In the early days when Gene was
just a 2 time Judo World Champion he accepted a challenge from a boxer Milo Savage for a $1000. This was before
martial arts or grappling was popular. Milo Savage shows up with brass knuckles under his wraps. Watch the video
for the results. Mr. LeBell will be featuring finishing grappling holds in the seminar.
